Head Chef Hefin at the 2012 Culinary Olympics
The 2012 Culinary Olympics took place in earlier this month and saw our Head Chef Hefin Roberts, along with the National Welsh Team, win two medals. Hefin travelled with senior Welsh team to Erfurt, Germany to compete in this prestigious event.
The Welsh senior team took a silver medal in the 'Hot Kitchen' event, which sees Hefin and a team of 4 other chefs prepare outstanding starters, mains and desserts for 120 people in just 6 hours.
The team were disappointed to only received a bronze medal in the 'Cold Buffet' section of the competition, with team manager Graham Tinsley adding “I genuinely believe that our cold table was one of the best we have ever put up and, in the past, it would have won us a gold.”
The junior team also took part for the first time since 2004, when Hefin captained the team to a gold medal. |
