Access Statement
Ye Olde Bulls Head Inn dates from 1472 but was
re-built in the 1617. It is a grade 2* listed building.
Assistance Dogs welcome.
All door measurements are clear opening widths.
Parking
- Located on Beaumaris’s main street (Castle
Street), there is parking for 7 vehicles in the rear courtyard
accessed via Rating Row. Parking for drivers with disabilities
can be reserved.
- The car park is well lit until 11pm.
Front Entrance
- The 110cm-wide main
entrance door from Castle Street has a step down of 10cms. This
door is open from 07.30am – midnight. Outside these hours
please ring bell for assistance. The internal door to the foyer
is 80cm wide and opens inwards.
- Once in the foyer there is level access:-
1. to the Residents’ Lounge through an 80cm-wide door
2. to Reception Entrances from Courtyard
Side Entrance
- There is a side 75cm-wide door from the courtyard
car park which is up a 14cm step. The door opens outwards.
- Turn right and through a double door which is
held open by magnets. This brings you to Reception and the Foyer.
Rear Entrance to Brasserie
See Brasserie below.
Corridors
- Lights remain on full power during the day, but
are dimmed to 20% between midnight and 7.15am.
Bar
- Access to the Bar from the foyer is through an
80cm-wide door.
Bar Toilets
- Access from the bar to the bar toilets is under
a 75cm-wide arched passage. The door to the toilet corridor is
55cms wide. There are 2 steps (14cms and 16 cms) up to a landing
from which access to the separate ladies and gents toilet is gained
through 75 cm-wide doors.
Brasserie
- Access to the Brasserie through the rear 155cm-wide
double door from the rear courtyard. The second door is usually
closed, please ask for assistance. There is a 3.5cm step.
- Access to the Brasserie from the foyer is through
a 90cms door and up 3 slate-topped steps each being 16.5cm high.
- The rear door opens in to a foyer where accessible
toilets are located (see below).
- Access to the foyer from the Brasserie is through
a 82cm-wide door.
- Menus can be provided in large print by prior
arrangement or can be read to guests at their table.
- Tables have are not fixed and can be moved to accommodate
wheelchair users.
- Food is served on white plates on oak tables.
- Breakfast can be served in the Brasserie by prior
arrangement.
Brasserie Toilets
- Accessible unisex toilets are located near the
rear entrance to the Brasserie. The door is 90cm wide and opens
outwards.
Restaurant
- Access to the Restaurant on the first floor from
the foyer is up a flight of 14 steps with a handrail on the left
to the first landing. The first 13 steps are 5.5 cms high and
the last step is 8cms. From the 1st landing, there are a further
three steps of 10cm, 13cm and 15cm. This takes you to the door
to the first floor corridor which is accessed through a 75cm-wide
opening.
- The Restaurant is located at the end of this corridor
and is up 2 steps of 17cms each and through a door of 73cms.
- The door has limited headroom of 170cms.
- Access to the Restaurant corridor on the first
floor from the bar is up an uneven flight of 14 steps with a handrail
on the left on the first half of the flight and on the right on
the second half.
- Menus can be provided in large print by prior
arrangement or can be read to guests upon arrival.
- Food is usually served on white plates on white
tablecloths. Contrasting crockery can be provided by prior arrangement.
- Breakfast is served in the Restaurant. (See Brasserie
section for exceptions).
Restaurant Toilets
- Restaurant toilets are located on the Restaurant
corridor and are accessed through a 70cm door.
Ground Floor Bedrooms
- Betsy Trotwood (Standard Double)
• This is a ground floor standard double en suite
room with 75cm-wide doors to both room and bathroom.
• There is insufficient room to allow transfer space from
wheelchair to WC and bed.
• All rooms have kettles, radios and remote control televisions.
- Mr Pickwick (4-Poster)
• The ground floor 4-poster en suite room has 75cm-wide
doors to both room and bathroom.
• All rooms have kettles, radios and remote control televisions.
• There is insufficient room to allow transfer space from
wheelchair to WC within the bathroom.
THE TOWNHOUSE – OPENING AUTUMN 2008
A new property adjacent to the Bull across Rating
Row is currently being developed.
The development will comprise a further thirteen guest
bedrooms and include one room fully compliant with current access
regulations along with designated parking with level access. A passenger
lift will serve all floors.
